Training Programs and Eligibility
NICVD is offering multiple training programs in a range of specialized departments. The program duration and eligibility requirements vary based on the position and department. Here are some highlights:
- Adult Cardiology
- Clinical Fellow: 1-year program for those with completed FCPS Cardiology training.
- FCPS Postgraduate Trainee: 3-year program requiring FCPS-1 and two years of IMM training.
- Diploma in Cardiology: A 2-year program for candidates with a one-year house job (PMDC recognized), preferably with an additional year of post-house job experience.
- Interventional Cardiology
- Post Fellow: 2-year program for FCPS Cardiology qualified candidates.
- Cardiac Imaging
- Post Fellow: 2-year program for FCPS Cardiology qualified candidates.
- Cardiac Surgery
- Post Fellow: 2-year program for FCPS Cardiac Surgery qualified candidates.
- Clinical Fellow: 1-year program for candidates with FCPS Cardiac Surgery training.
- Paediatric Cardiology
- Post Fellow: 3-year program for FCPS Paediatrics Medicine qualified candidates.
- Clinical Fellow: 1-year program for those with completed FCPS or MD in Paediatrics Medicine training.
- Critical Care Medicine
- Post Fellow: 2-year program for FCPS-qualified individuals in General Medicine, Cardiology, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonology, or Nephrology.
- Anesthesia and Electrophysiology
- Post Fellow in Anesthesia: 2-year program for FCPS-qualified candidates in Anesthesia.
- Post Fellow in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology: 2-year program for FCPS Cardiology qualified candidates.

How to Apply:
Candidates can download the application form from the official NICVD website http://www.nicvd.org or obtain it from the Medical Education Department, 5th Floor, NICVD, Karachi.
Deadline:
Completed application forms, along with all required attested documents, must reach the Medical Education Department, NICVD Karachi, by Monday, November 11, 2024. Applicants should ensure that any couriered documents arrive before the deadline.
Selection Process:
Selection will be strictly on a merit basis, with only shortlisted candidates invited for interviews and tests. Applicants are allowed to apply for only one position and must clearly indicate their preferred training centre.
Important Notes for Applicants
- Government Employees: Candidates currently employed in government positions must apply through the proper channel and bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the interview.
- Stipend and Training Start Date: Successful candidates will receive a stipend per NICVD policies, and training is set to begin in January 2025.
- No TA/DA: No travel allowance will be provided for test or interview appearances.
