Below is an excerpt from my travel blog. Cheers.

I’ve been on a bit of a rooftop view kick, this last week. It’s August in New York City. It’s hot and finding a a breeze isn’t always easy. Roofdeck’s are the best place to cool down and enjoy a beverage. Last week, I had the fortunate experience of being invited to a penthouse on New York’s Upper East Side. One of the best views I’ve seen in Manhattan. The ‘lake’ pictured above is the reservoir in Manhattan’s Central Park.

This shot was taken with a 2 minute exposure. I love how the camera pulls out the colors of the sky as the sun sets below the horizon at these long exposures. You certainly need a tripod and off camera shutter release for anything over 1/4 of a second. It’s just too hard to get a crisp shot without a sturdy tripod.
