The former Munich player Kroos, the linchpin at Real, prepared the 0-1 through Vinicius Junior (24th) after a flash of thought as “Toni’s through pass”. And then it happened on the other side and all of a sudden Real’s calm was over: Sané prevailed and, like Robben, who was following the game on site as an expert, took a shot with his left and hit the near corner. His first goal in six months. But that wasn’t enough, Musiala was fouled in the penalty area just a short time later. Penalty. One thing for Kane.
Kane missed the goal to make it 3-1 by centimeters (66′), Eric Dier’s header was denied by Lunin seconds later. Ancelotti tried to give the hard-fought game another twist in his old place of work: He took down Kroos and the rather inconspicuous former Dortmund player Jude Bellingham (76th) and brought on veteran Luka Modrić, among others. But Bayern fought against the equalizer with full commitment – like Neuer against Vinicius (79th). Then Vinicius Junior took the chance from the penalty spot after a foul by Kim on Rodrygo.
